LOFA’s environmental and ethical values

  • We believe that gardens and the enjoyment of the garden are important to the well being of the nation.
  • Quality and safety will not be compromised.
  • We will exhibit leadership through knowledge and action.
  • We will know the stories of our products, covering well being, finite limits (resource requirements), climate, and poverty.
  • The timber we use will be from well managed forests.
  • We will seek to minimise the environmental impact of the other raw materials we use.
  • Working conditions in our supplier factories and throughout the supply chain will meet the standards required to satisfy our most demanding (i.e. advanced) retail customers.
  • We will know the direct carbon footprint of our products and we will have a developing understanding of their embedded carbon.
  • We will not over package our products, and we will maximise our use re-cyclable materials for packaging.
  • We will endeavour to explain to our consumers how to minimise the impact on the environment of using LOFA products.
  • We will design our products to make recycling as easy as possible.
  • We will minimise the need to use toxic chemicals in our products and their production processes.
